Yellowstone-Day 3 Aug 29

Today we departed Roosevelt Lodge and headed south to Lake Lodge and our new accommodations on glorious Yellowstone Lake. After a quick stop at the Lodge, we continued on to the west part of the park to see Old Faithful and other thermal attractions. We had lunch at the famous Old Faithful Inn and finished just in time to witness the next eruption. Charlie and I were both somewhat disappointed, not with Old Faithful, but with the Disney Land atmosphere of the area…we didn’t hang around long. Instead we enjoyed the other nearby thermal attractions…we saw boiling mud pots, turquoise pools of water with visibility of 15-20 feet, and other geysers which were as impressive as Old Faithful, just not as big.

On the way back to the Lake Lodge we stopped by the marina to check about our canoe trip and finalized details. When we finally checked into Lake Lodge…we really felt we had arrived…this cabin had indoor plumbing. Check out the photo!
