This morning Charlie had to see the "Old Trail Town" in Cody before we started the drive to Red Lodge. The drive up the "Chief Joseph Scenic Highway" was awesome. The mountains were rugged and the vistas seemed endless...we stopped at "Dead Indian Pass" for a couple of photos and to read the roadside plackards detailing the plight of the Shoshone Indian's failed attempt to escape capture. The road intersected with the "Bear Tooth Highway" and continued to climb in elevation...reaching it's highest point at "BearTooth Pass" at an altitude in excess of 10,000 ft. The high peaks and medows were spotted with lingering patches of snow waiting for the first flakes of the coming winter snows.
The road down to Red Lodge was winding and twisting as indicated by my new "GPS" which displays the road features and posted speed limit of 70 mph (for crazy people only). Finally after reaching the valley floor the road straightens and makes it's way to Red Lodge.
We look forward to reading everyone's comments, so let us hear from you..or we might not come home... even though that might please some people. :>)

Wow... these vistas are awesome... I for one will be very upset if you don't come home. Debbie
Bob,
I think you are having way too much fun, you should come back to work immediately.

Bob I remember bear tooth highway very well. Years ago I was on it in one of the frequent snowstorms. What a great view. The top is supposed to be 11,000 feet.
I'm doing double duty in the complaint dept for KHFH. It helps having a backup. Looks like the weather has been great. Have a ball. I'm next.

I tried to show the triplets their postcards and the pics on the blog, but Ellis got distracted by the ceiling fan, Lillie Ruth wanted to pull on my nose, and Emmeline just wanted to bounce. Ha ha! Maybe one day they will appreciate such things.
